Green Up Day Vermont is an annual statewide event where communities come together to clean up roadsides, public areas, and waterways to keep Vermont clean and pristine. This event has been a tradition in Vermont since 1970 and is held on the first Saturday in May. Thanks to volunteers like you Green Up Day Vermont to date has removed a more than 348 tons of trash and more than 15,000 tires from our communities.
Green Up Day Vermont is a great opportunity for individuals, families, schools, and businesses to give back to their communities and take pride in keeping Vermont clean. By working together, we can make a positive impact on the environment and help preserve the natural beauty of our state for future generations.
To get involved in Green Up Day Vermont, individuals can visit the official Green Up Vermont website to find out more information about how to participate in your local community. On Green Up Day, volunteers are encouraged to wear green and gather at designated meeting spots to receive trash bags, gloves, and other supplies. They then fan out into neighborhoods and natural areas to pick up litter and debris.
If you are planning to drop off a minor at this event, you will need to sign a Minor Participant Release of Liability form before leaving. You can download and print it in advance at the bottom of this page in the attachments section or grab one in person at the event.
